Job Summary
We are seeking a General Laborer to join our team of professional movers. In this role, you will be packing and moving customers household or office belongings as well as support worksite operations through manual labor tasks. This includes ensuring no items are damaged while moving, loading/unloading, packing items in truck with care, wrapping furniture in protective material and take inventory throughout the job. Other tasks may include: keeping the worksite clean through the collection of trash, operating power tools, setting up temporary structures, or other necessary tasks. The ideal candidate is a hard worker with the ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Responsibilities
Loads and unloads vehicle by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly
Wraps furniture with blankets to prevent damage
Wraps dishes and fragile items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment
Pads, stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment
Delivers and stacks shipment on customer's premises
Assists in cleaning truck, tools and equipment
Collects or picks up empty containers, packing materials
Must know, use and follow all Hired Muscle safety regulations
Maintain a clean work environment by picking up trash, excess building materials, or other potentially hazardous products
Provide assistance to onsite tradespeople such as welder, painters, and carpenters
Transport materials and equipment from one location to another
Operate power tools and/or industrial equipment
Construct, transfer, and tear down temporary structures such as scaffolding
Other manual labor tasks as required by the foreman or supervisor
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment in need of repair
Qualifications
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and standing for long periods
Strong attention to detail
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations
Knowledge of power tools is preferred
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Additional certifications or apprenticeship experience is preferred but not necessary
