    Job Description

    Job Summary

    The General Maintenance Worker supports facilities management and sustainment functions of CMI’s customer located in Washington, DC.

    Key Job Functions

    • Provides labor and installation for space modifications, reconfigurations and new furniture, or relocated furniture (including safes)
    • Performs a variety of maintenance duties to include, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, basic repairs, cosmetic upkeep, and simple appliance/machine installations
    • Performs minor carpentry tasks that include, but are not limited to, assembly of furniture, hanging pictures, mounting of storage solutions, carpet tile installation, drywall and painting repairs, and other minor repair tasks
    • Performs minor plumbing tasks that do not require special licensing to perform such as fixing leaking faucets, installing or repairing showerheads, and removing or applying caulking.
    • Provides escort service for all maintenance and project contractors on an as-needed basis
    • Process/delivers supply orders that support facilities maintenance services.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma
    • Must be US citizen or permanent resident Alien with ability to pass a government background check
    • Must possess at least five (5) years related maintenance experience for commercial facilities
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in tight restricted spaces and work from a ladder
    • Ability to withstand bending, squatting, walking, and prolonged standing
    • Good customer service and communication skills
    • Self-starter with good initiative to get the job done with little to no direct supervision
