Job Summary
We are looking for a General Manager for our Washington, DC office. The General Manager will provide strategic direction and sponsorship to drive market position, sales, and growth. Oversee market teams and operations in ways that promote accountability, compliance, proven practices, financial health, and engagement. Champion change, innovation, partnerships, and programs that elevate the brand and outcomes within and across markets. Lead the market forward in alignment with the organization mission and inclusive, values-driven culture fostering community and exceptional client and employee experiences.
Responsibilities
- Market Position and Growth. Create and implement data-driven strategies and initiatives to achieve targeted growth and sales goals for the market. Elevate presence and position in the market, leveraging alliances and cross-market expertise and success to introduce and expand offerings within and across verticals. Partner with marketing and sales leaders to strategically tap into new ventures and unmet and emerging needs with targeted campaigns and business development approaches. Advocate for market needs to generate support and resources required to gain traction in line with long range goals. Champion incentive and discount programs to motivate and generate healthy competition across sales team. Act as sponsor on high-profile, high-volume pitches and accounts to influence and generate wins.
- Market and Operational Excellence. Maintain ongoing accountability for proven practices in compliance with the local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Demand the safety and wellbeing of the organization and its people remain an unwavering priority. Maintain financial health through accurate forecasting, proactive workforce and resource planning, and expense oversight and accountability. Leverage thought leadership and experimentation to drive innovation, advanced offerings, and operational efficiencies. Design and integrate infrastructure, practices, and processes that further market and organizational priorities. Cultivate high trust relationships with partners and influential stakeholders internal and external to organization.
- Brand and Industry Ambassador. Promote relationships and connections within and across market influencers, civic, business, and industry organizations. Sponsor and actively participate in high-profile events that showcase the organization’s achievements, mission, and culture inclusive of receptions, fundraisers, public speaking and panel engagement, conferences, and exhibitions. Protect the rights and interests of the organization and its people, providing leadership to effectively navigate and influence the dynamic industry and business landscape. Model the organization’s core values to the highest, representing its brand and differentiation in the industry. Engage with partners to elevate brand and strengthen alliances across A&D, commercial real estate, and vertical product lines.
- Strategy Articulation and Sponsorship. Serve as executive leadership team member and liaison to define, champion, and cascade organization strategy and priorities. Envision and lead integrated market strategy and priorities driven by industry and market trends, client analysis, and competition. Collaborate with cross-market and functional leaders to accelerate strategy execution and success. Champion change management initiatives required to strategically advance organization and market strategy.
- Market and Organizational Leadership. Maintain continuity and alignment around corporate manufacturing partnerships. Champion and strengthen sense of community across market and organization. Establish and maintain accountability for a values-driven culture across the market and organization. Facilitate successful market and organization-wide relationships and connections to best leverage proven practices, resources, and capabilities. Identify, lead, and champion processes, programs, and initiatives that reinforce a compelling employee value proposition (e.g., talent acquisition, engagement, performance management, targeted development, staffing, and workforce planning).
