What if you were given the opportunity and responsibility to make a difference? This is your opportunity to lead a large, successful multipurpose fitness facility. We are seeking a General Manager to oversee 70+ full-time and part-time staff, responsible for all operations, staff management, and departments at the facility.
Position: General Manager Job Type: Full-time Location: FFC South Loop Compensation: $80,000-100,000 per year
What You'll Do:
Provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for members, guests, and co-workers
Ensure all staff clean and disinfect club components as they are used by members, guests, and themselves
Help retain and attract new members through club promotion and exceptional customer service
Assist with the opening and closing of the club on a team rotational basis
Adhere to the company’s Core Values and Core Purpose
Improve service levels, measured via Customer Satisfaction Surveys and daily feedback
Oversee operations, programs, staff, and revenue generation to increase demand, usage, and net revenue
Analyze and report on the results of specific programs, including managing inventory, deposits, and petty cash
Nurture sub-tenant relationships, including overseeing sublease renewals
Lead staff training and development, setting individual goals linked to departmental budgets and compensation
Conduct regular team meetings for strategy, team building, and goal reinforcement
Interview, hire, and train staff for facility positions, approve employee status changes, promotions, and compensation increases
Conduct performance reviews
Develop and manage department and facility budgets, forecast revenue growth, and present monthly financial reports
Implement the strategic plan and budget, ensuring alignment with annual goals
Lead marketing efforts, especially supporting the Sales Manager
Oversee facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, and general appearance to maintain quality standards
Perform regular facility inspections and meet with the owner for reporting
Who You Are:
Passionate about leadership, health & fitness, and customer service
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of management experience in Fitness, Hospitality, or related industries with proven P&L management skills
Ability to delegate, train, lead, and motivate staff across departments
Effective communicator with staff and customers to promote high service levels
Skilled in multitasking, problem-solving, and meeting deadlines
Willing to work during “Closeout” (last 3 days of every month) and flexible to work evenings and weekends
Proficient in Excel, Google Docs, and email
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
CPR/AED Certification required
