    Location: Seattle, WA


    Compensation: $150k plus $50k-ish bonus based on performance goals, Health Insurance, 401k Match, PTO, Cell, Laptop, Vehicle.

    Job Summary

    The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of their assigned branch, including both day-to-day operations as well as execution of the long-term, strategic plan.

    The General Manager is also responsible for both employee and client/account management, ensuring employees are trained and capable of meeting client/account objectives.

    Essential Functions

    Leadership

    • Participate in the development of strategic corporate initiatives and actively contribute to short-and long-term organizational planning activities.
    • Provide leadership that mentors and develops all team members.
    • Responsible for selection, training and development of staff for assigned branch.
    • Communicate clear expectations to all team members.
    • Ensure staff have the tools and training necessary to meet all assigned metrics.
    • Coach, counsel and manage performance of direct reports.
    • Organize and coordinate ongoing training and career development opportunities for all staff aligned with the assigned branch.
    • Provide local interpretation of existing policies and procedures and ensure adherence by all team members. Assist with implementation and training for updated and new policies and procedures.  
    • Ensure the company’s standards and quality control are maintained in all areas (including but not limited to):
      • Exterior Service operation, philosophy and account management
      • Vehicle inspection and maintenance 
      • Company phone plan
      • Facility maintenance, repairs and security.

    Financial

    • P&L management.
    • Assist in the development of budget for assigned branch. 
    • Review and approve payroll, overtime and branch expenses ensuring alignment with established budget. 
    • Regularly monitor metrics and address areas where goals and budgets are not being met. 

    Sales and Client Relationship Management

    • Achieve growth by winning new accounts.
    • Ensure the sales team is executing on the strategic growth plan targeting appropriate prospects and accounts. 
    • Monitor client relationship management software regularly to ensure the pipeline report is up to date.  
    • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to build brand visibility and generate new leads. 

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, horticulture or other related field, or 10 years of management experience
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an operations or general manager
    • Strong follow-through, quick decision-making abilities and able to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
    • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that allows the employee to be covered by the company’s insurance company
    • Adept at using Microsoft Office365 and online sales tracking tools
    • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
    • Comfortable working in a highly digitized and electronic environment 
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
    • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
    • Comfortable with a significant amount of personal accountability and responsibility
    • Self-starter, ability to set priorities and keep to projected schedules

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Horticulture background and a love of plants and biophilic design
    • Prior experience in a leadership role in the horticulture industry, strongly preferred
    • Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish
