    Weston Field Club, located in the heart of Weston, Connecticut, is a private, member-owned club nestled within beautiful surroundings. Founded over 75 years ago, the club offers a variety of recreational activities including swimming, tennis, paddle, pickleball, trap shooting, summer camps and prides itself on a close-knit community atmosphere. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to oversee and lead all aspects of our club's operations.

    General Purpose:

    The General Manager is responsible for the overall direction and management of all club operations. This includes fostering strong relationships with our members, guests, associates, and the community, ensuring their utmost satisfaction while maintaining the club’s financial performance. The General Manager will lead all departments and ensure that Weston Field Club's amenities and services are continuously enhanced, effectively supporting membership growth and overall operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Supervision: Manage and oversee the daily operations of all departments, including Facilities, Membership, Food & Beverage, Summer Camp, Racquet Sports, and Swimming. Lead a team of full time and seasonal employees through the entity of employee life cycle including: interviewing, hiring, training and employee relations.

    Financial Oversight: In partnership with the Board of Finance, work together to prepare and oversee the club’s annual budget, monitor revenue goals, and control expenses. Analyze business forecasts and adjust plans as needed to meet budget goals, ensuring the club’s financial health and sustainability.

    Revenue Generation: Oversee all revenue-generating activities, with a focus on expanding new membership, food and beverage, and the swim and tennis programs. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all revenue, ensuring proper use of the club’s POS system and daily reconciliation of financial records.

    Vendor Relations: Research, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the club receives the best value in terms of pricing and service while benefiting our operations.

    Long-term Planning: Collaborate with the board to create and implement strategic plans for the club’s growth and future development including a strong emphasis on building new membership and identifying additional revenue opportunities.

    Member Experience & Programming: Curate and oversee the club's calendar of events, ensuring a top-tier experience for members and guests. Lead efforts to enhance programming, making sure the club’s offerings align with the needs and desires of our community.

    Marketing & Membership: Lead the marketing and membership teams in creating effective drives, promotions, tours, and member engagement strategies. Ensure the club’s growth through active recruitment, outreach, and retention of members.

    Club Communications: Regularly communicate with board, staff and members, fostering a positive and welcoming environment. Maintain an open-door policy to ensure the club remains approachable and responsive. Regularly attend, participate in and present in town halls.

    Regular On-Site Presence: Be present on-site during regular hours, weekends, holidays, and evening board meetings. Maintain a visible and hands-on leadership role.

    Desired Characteristics:

    Experience in running and managing both Tennis and Swim programs, with a knowledge of tennis court maintenance and pool chemicals.

    Food & beverage and/or hospitality industry experience preferred.

    Strong accounting, bookkeeping, and budgeting skills.

    Ability to take a hands-on approach to organizational tasks and manage the day-to-day needs of the club.

    Experience in event planning and member engagement.

    Enthusiasm for supporting Weston Field Club’s upcoming growth and renovation plans.

    Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for continuous improvement.

    Physical Demands:

    The position will require standing, walking, and sitting on a regular basis. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching may be required. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is expected occasionally.

    Environment & Noise:

    Work will involve outdoor conditions and moderate noise levels, especially during peak seasons.

    Education & Experience:

    A Bachelor's degree (BA) is preferred, or equivalent experience with 5-10 years in a related role. Candidates with extensive experience in multi-facility operations are encouraged to apply.
