    The General Service Technician performs tire retail and diagnostic services in the service center of the Fausak Tires & Service (“Fausak”) retail store. The General Service Technician may be asked to perform some duties of other positions at the location as the need arises and for the purpose of evaluating employees for advancement.

    The General Service Technician is regularly responsible for the following duties: • Service: Assist customer’s in selecting the appropriate products for their needs and suggesting or referring them to the management team. Perform tire services such as mounting, balancing and repairing; perform oil changes, check and add vital fluids; service and install car batteries; inspect belts and hoses; inspecting and replace wipers; replace air and cabin filters; and perform multi-point vehicle inspections. Maintain a professional appearance and keep the work area tidy, organized and clean.

    • Safety: Always consider the safety of Fausak employees, customers, and guests in any decision making as well as the security of company facilities and equipment/property. Serve as a role model for safety to the other employees, and enforce safety rules, policies and procedures by reporting infractions to the Store Manager or other members of management as appropriate.

    • Compliance: Follow all local, state and federal laws and corporate policies with regards to every aspect of the job.

    • Inventory and Sales Management: Help build the sales and financial returns of the business through effective customer interaction and high quality services.

    • Other: Perform other duties as assigned. Job Description – GST V1.1 The General Service Technician Must Be Able To:

    • Speak, write, read and understand English at a level that allows for clear and comprehensive communication with customers and co-workers. • Learn and retain service guidelines, technical information and specifications.

    • Sit, stand, bend and stoop, often for prolonged periods of time, and be able to maneuver or crawl in awkward positions on occasions.

    • Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

    • Endure the physical demands of an auto service location, including being subject to outside temperatures in varying weather conditions, and being exposed to strong smells and noise.

    • Have the strength and motor skills to handle small tools and parts; to lift and turn large objects; and to input information into a computer system using a keyboard and other devices.

    • Work retail hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

    The General Service Technician must:

    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent is required;

    • Have A minimum of 2 years work experience in any field is required; prior experience in the automotive repair and sales is strongly preferred.

    • Receive TIA Certified Training within 6 months of hire

    • Have an understanding of the parts, tools and equipment required for tire repairs and servicing.

    • Have basic computer skills.
