We are seeking a General Superintendent to be responsible for the overall field on a large project, leading a team of superintendents to ensure that company policies and procedures are met in regard to safety, scheduling, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

Description

This is a managerial position and reports to the VP/General Manager of the Department.

• Responsible for effectively hiring and managing project Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.

• Actively participate in maintaining and updating company standards and procedures for managing work in the field.

• Collaborate with corporate Safety and Quality Committees to maintain, update and enforce company standards.

• Responsible for ensuring Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents are following company policies.

• Provide guidance to Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents on projects, including but not limited to job sequencing, staffing, execution plans, and means and methods.

• Collaborate with Department leads on maintaining and updating project control documentation standards.

• Coordinate with Department managers on assigning resources.

• Monitor professional progress of Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, perform performance evaluations, recommend training and track progress.

• Assist in resolving field conflicts.

• Prepare with team for client interviews and participate in interviews when required.

• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to harvest new and repeat business.

• Assist site supervision during critical times of the project, including major milestones, completion phases and assist with conflict resolution.

• Supervise projects and attend owners’ meetings, as required by project needs and/or by management’s request.

• Develop, update, and administer training for Superintendents and Assistant Superintendent Training Program

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 15+ years General Construction experience required.

• Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations required.

• Communication, supervisory and organizational skills are necessary

• 10+ Years experience in the Data Centre market
