    Job Description

    The CES 24-hour Market Operations Center (MOC) provides real time monitoring and control center services remotely from our Center City Philadelphia offices. The MOC manages over 300 power generation assets across the U.S., including hydro, wind, solar, energy storage, natural gas, and other traditional fossil fuel sources. With over 13,000 MWs under management, CES’s MOC monitors and controls more energy than any other third-party provider in the U.S.

    The CES MOC consists of two distinct operations desks, a Market Operations Center Desk and an Operations Control Center Desk (OCC). CES is in the process of increasing the staffing for our OCC Desk and is looking for a talented individual with a desire to help support our clients, while also contributing to the overall growth of this company. People who can learn quickly and handle multiple tasks while at the same time being detail oriented enough to make sure things are done right the first time will flourish in this role.

    ** Responsibilities:**

    • Applicants must be willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (6 Person Rotation). This includes nights, weekend and occasionally holidays.
    • Applicants will be expected to submit Real Time and Day Ahead Energy bids and offers on behalf of our clients, consistent with various ISO/RTO market timelines.
    • Applicants must have the ability to actively monitor and control the operating of wind turbines, hydroelectric plants, solar sites, and battery storage facilities, along with the related components.
    • Ensure generation assets are being economically dispatched.
    • Provide and support the coordination of planned, unplanned and emergency outages notifications
    • React and comply with all ISO/RTO requests
    • Applicants must possess the ability to effectively maintain an operations log
    • Strong communication skills and professionalism when on the phone.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Finance/Economics, and/or other engineering related degree, or equivalent experience. This includes former Military Nuclear and Fueling operations
    • Experience monitoring GE, Siemens, PI or other Generation SCADA/EMS Systems
    • Preferred PJM or NERC Operator Certification. (CES is willing to train and certify if needed, additionally, individual must be willing maintain the certification through continuing education credits and/or retesting.)
    • Experience demonstrating skills handling multiple tasks simultaneously without losing track of the details at various stages of completion under normal and stressful conditions.
    • Experience demonstrating basic skills using computer applications (for ex: using e-mail, Internet, word processing, excel and/or entering data into an application)
    • Ability to monitor and navigate among several computer screens simultaneously.
    • Responsible individual with ability to complete tasks without continuous, direct supervision and accept accountabilities for all actions.
