  • Responsibilities

    Genesis Health Clubs is hiring Climbing Wall Monitors for the Rock Road location.

    1. The Wall Monitor is responsible for ensuring safety is always maintained at the Climbing Wall.

    2. The Wall Monitor is willing to have KIND conversations with members and guests who are unwilling to follow safety procedures

    3. The Wall Monitor enthusiastically greet members and welcome them to the climbing space.

    4. The Wall Monitors have eyes on all members participating in climbing, to the best of their ability, and ensure they are following safety procedures

    5. The Wall Monitor visually checks all member’s harnesses to ensure they are double backed, properly fitted, and are not showing any signs of potential failure

    6. The Wall Monitor completes daily tasks as they are listed on the task sheet

    7. The Wall Monitor weekly inspects all rental gear, alerting their supervisor should any gear look compromised

    8. The Wall Monitor monitors wall systems daily (Top Rope, Auto Belay, etc.) and should they notice any issues, or unusual wear, they let their supervisor know immediately.

    9. The Wall Monitor strives to build community at the climbing wall, by putting members and guests first daily

    Requirements – Climbing Wall Monitor

    · This position has a variable schedule; the ability to work days, evenings, and weekends according to the needs of the club is required.

    · This position requires work that occurs indoors on a regular basis; handling of cleaning products and agents are required for the position.

    · This position has an inherent amount of physical and mental stress; all candidates must be prepared and capable of adapting to such conditions.

    · This position requires physical exertion; standing, walking, lifting, handling, thinking, problem solving, calculating are all required and often constant.

    · CWM should be competent in climbing safety, and willing to demonstrate it upon employment

    · Reliable transportation to and from work.
