    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a GIS Intern be based in Orange, CA.

    This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Produce cartographic maps, graphics, and figures.
    • Create, edit, and maintain various types of GIS data, including spatial databases.
    • Transfer data to/from GPS devices and post-process using differential correction.
    • Digitize, scan, and georeferenced maps, engineering drawings, and imagery.
    • Basic proficiency in ArcPro
    • knowledge of ArcGIS ArcMap
    • Completion of GIS cartography course (map making, editing data, digitizing, and compiling metadata)
    • Completion of advanced GIS course preferred (geoprocessing, python scripting, and performing spatial analysis)

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with a master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with ArcGIS Software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
    • Experience with geoprocessing tasks using Esri Model Builder and Python but not required.
