    Job Description

    AECOM's Honolulu office is currently seeking a Geologist to support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various DOD clients in Pacific. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a teamwork environment.

    This position is expected to begin in March 2025.

    Tasks will include:

    • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
    • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
    • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering.
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
    • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
    • Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
    • Relevant years of work experience.
    • Experience military emergency response and environmental projects
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
    • Experience using ArcGIS and generating maps and report figures.
    • Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.
    • Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

    • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
    • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
