This includes researching and executing actions necessary to confirm eligibility, recommend payments, and handle the suspension, reinstatement, or termination of incentives. The role requires a detailed and accurate approach to processing incentive terminations, ensuring compliance with all Army National Guard (ARNG) policies and guidelines.

    What does a typical day look like for a Incentives Termination Specialist?

    The Incentives Termination Specialist's day is dynamic. The role involves reviewing and processing incentive termination requests, verifying eligibility and required documentation, and updating records in the Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS). The role also includes monitoring termination payments, addressing discrepancies, and responding to service members' inquiries about eligibility and payment statuses. Additionally, the professional conducts audits, prepares regular reports, and ensures all documentation is stored securely and in compliance with ARNG regulations.

    • Completion of the Incentive Manager course (distance learning phase) online at https://guardu.ng.mil, and the Comptrollers and Fiscal Law course at https://jagu.army.mil
    • Successful completion of the Incentive Manager course (resident phase) at NGPEC for continued access to the Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS).
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to process and verify complex documents within set timeframes.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for addressing service member inquiries and discrepancies.
    • Proven ability to work in a highly regulated environment with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
