    The mission of Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls and address the systemic barriers that impede girls’ success. The Girls Inc. Wellness program provides focus on actively pursuing intentions, choices, and actions that work together toward an optimal holistic health state and well-being.

    Job Summary:

    The Wellness Program Facilitator - Marietta City Schools is a part-time position (<20 hours week) that is responsible for leading 2 SEL sessions each day afterschool at select Marietta City Elementary schools. Marietta City Schools. Hours of facilitator will be 4-6 pm, Monday-Thursday. There is also a girls group at a local high school on Tuesdays weekly at 11 am. Facilitators will utilize provided wellness curriculum to address social and emotional needs, while engaging youth in a thoughtful yet invigorating matter. Must possess the ability to modify lessons as needed. Facilitators are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment; ensuring a high level of program quality and work to establish a positive relationship with all program participants, in addition to developing community relationships.

    Principle Responsibilities:

    Lead SEL sessions utilizing the Girls Inc approved curriculum provided

    Attend required professional development meetings and trainings

    Ability to maintain classroom management and behavioral needs of students

    Collaborate with program leadership to prepare materials and to ensure effective program delivery

    Curriculum development and planning in collaboration with Wellness Director and organizational partners

    Determine ongoing equipment and resource needs to implement a high-quality experience for all

    Follow required policies and procedures of host site or school

    Administer pre/post test surveys at the beginning and end of programming

    Maintain positive outcomes and program comprehension from youth

    Maintain records of attendance, sign‐in/out sheets and participants’ registrations for all sites and programs

    Prepare and teach research-based, age-appropriate programs and curriculum using Girls Inc. National and Greater Atlanta Affiliate Programming as the cornerstone of instruction

    Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas and concerns, and work collaboratively with other facilitators to meet organizational goals and achieve program objectives

    Remain current on issues related to youth, particularly girls

    Serve as a role model for youth, other staff, and volunteers in maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to quality in all aspects of program delivery and work in general

    Uphold and enforce Girls Inc. Experience

    Other duties assigned

    Qualifications: Required

    Formal education in field of Education, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, Sociology, and/or Youth Development related field

    Reliable transportation to drive to and from sites

    Minimum of three years of experience working in education or a youth organization or related field; experience working with girls ages 5 - 18

    Minimum of three years of curriculum development and evaluation experience

    Great interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport, create a safe environment for scholars, commit to the mission while establishing empathetic bonds with youth

    Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse & Neglect Check

    Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately, exercise discretion as appropriate, and remain sensitive to individual situations and needs

    Excellent organizational and communication skills

    · Ability to facilitate a classroom of up to 30 students

    Positive reputation and credibility among peers as a professional

    Ability to effectively interact with all with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientation, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity

    Preferred

    · Bachelor’s Degree or Higher

    · Bilingual in Spanish PLUS

    · CPR/ First Aid Certified

    · Proficient in Microsoft Suite

    Pay Range

    $18 - $22 per hour
