    Job Description

    We’re looking for an ambitious and talented entry-level writer to join our global content and editorial team. Reporting to the Global Head of Brand, Content and Editorial Strategy, you’ll support the global strategic marketing team by planning and delivering content for multi-channel global marketing campaigns that support our growth and brand positioning priorities.

    In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work with our industry-leading subject matter experts to create engaging, client-focused content. You’ll cover subjects ranging from future mobility and the energy transition to low-carbon building materials, water reuse, digital innovation, social value, nature-based solutions and more. This role is perfect for those with a journalistic curiosity.

    The right candidate will be grammar-obsessed, deadline driven and keen to hone their skills across a range of content types. In any given week you might develop thought leadership articles, craft brand narratives, compose attention-grabbing social media text, draft video scripts or imagine interactive elements to display research data. As a guardian of the AECOM brand, you’ll be comfortable meticulously copy-editing and proofreading copy for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to our brand voice.

    This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include a combination of both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual, to be based in the Greater New York City area.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • Assist the Global Head of Brand, Content and Editorial Strategy to create content in alignment with global strategic marketing campaigns.

    • Support the development of our content strategy and messaging for marketing campaigns and brand priorities.

    • Help create targeted thought leadership from concept to completion, interviewing subject matter experts within the business and overseeing the review and approval process.

    • Support the creation of videos, infographics, podcast episodes, social media tiles, and other assets.

    • Act as a creative storyteller within brand guidelines, considering tone of voice, target audience and channel.

    • Support marketing leads to write and edit website content, ensuring that campaign messaging and brand voice are used consistently and creatively.

    • Assist with the management of complex, multi-author, multi-asset content projects.

    • Upload and publish articles to AECOM-owned platforms using our CMS.

    • Support with SEO, as well as tracking and reporting on content performance using Google Analytics.

    • Maintain and update existing organizational writing guidelines, templates and tools.

    • Advise on editorial standards as per house style and guidelines.

    • Exceptional standard of written English

    • Outstanding research, fact-checking and editing skills

    • Excellent communication and interview skills

    • Proven ability to write engaging, client-focused content

    • An eye for a good story

    • Attention to detail

    • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO

    • Confidence to challenge and make well-informed editorial recommendations

    • Strong time management and organizational skills

    • Comfortable engaging with senior-level stakeholders

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA in English, professional writing, journalism, communications or a related field plus 0 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    • A strong copywriting portfolio that includes articles, email copy, web pages, blogs, etc., ideally including examples created for the built environment / infrastructure industry.

    • A case study exercise will be included in the interview process

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1-2 years copywriting experience in either a B2B content marketing or a publishing/journalistic environment.
    • Experience supporting the built environment / infrastructure industry
    • Experience in a journalism setting including interviewing, developing questions, etc.
