Go Tufting NYC studio is hiring now!

Go Tufting NYC is a tufting art studio located in Long Island City that provided tufting workshops making customized products like Rugs, Mirrors, Coasters, Bags, etc. from Thursday to Sunday. We are looking for a fun and passionate workshop assistant (preferably art/textile design major) with a can-do attitude to work 2-4 days per week. Candidate who have experience in tufting will be a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE HELPING WITH BOTH CREATIVE AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

• Instruct a class of 6 during tufting workshop (Set up your tufting station, help the guest choose yarn for their project, and teach the class how to use the tufting equipment. After applying carpet adhesives, guide them through all gluing, trimming, and backing processes.)

• Studio task management and inventory organization

• Assist Art teacher before and during teaching sessions (Cutting Cloths, Replenish yarns to the shelf, etc.)

• Maintenance of Studio environment

• Occasional QuickBooks entries and expense tracking

• Social Media Management (IG, Website)

(Other contents will be based upon studio managers day-to-day request)

MANDATORY SKILLS:

STRONG customer service, interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable organizing events for 6-8 ppl

Organization and task management

Interest in crating, art or educational instruction is a plus

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

Familiarity with tufting or an interest to learn

Language: Mandarin/Shanghainese

Photography skills

Video editing

Graphic Design skills
