    THE ROLE

    Golden Hippo is currently looking for a REGULATORY ATTORNEY who will be responsible for providing guidance on advertising consumer products such as dietary supplements, food and cosmetics.  This role will be the company’s in-house “expert” on state advertising laws and the regulations and consumer protection laws promulgated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) and the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”).

    WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

    • Reviewing and editing advertising content and websites for compliance with applicable regulations and/or consumer protection laws under the FDA, FTC and California law.
    • Being able to think creatively to provide suggested edits to advertising content and mitigate legal risk while still supporting key business and performance objectives.
    • Keeping up to date on all current and pending regulations and/or consumer protection laws applicable to the business.
    • Researching and summarizing in “plain English” the legal requirements for advertising content.
    • Ability to draft, implement and enforce clear policies on advertising content.

    IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

    • Bachelor's Degree; Juris Doctorate required 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law preferred 
    • 2+ years of previous experience in-house with a company that creates advertisements for dietary supplements, cosmetics and/or pet food products.
    • 3+ years of previous experience in-house with a company that creates advertisements for dietary supplements, cosmetics and/or pet food products.
    • Active member of a state bar preferred 
    • A solutions-oriented lawyer with a "hands-on" energetic approach and style.
    • Responsive, approachable, and collaborative work style.  
    • Possesses a high degree of accountability, self-motivation, and drive.
    • Ability to accurately and quickly review and edit marketing materials.
    • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them properly under time constraints.
