Provides nursing services to the Arc of Monroe in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Ensures that the people we support are receiving appropriate, ongoing health care and coordinates health care and documentation between families of the people you support, community residences and day/work programs. Shares rotation in providing on call nursing support from 5pm Friday to 8am following Friday to ensure quality care to the people you support. RN will be certified as a CPR Instructor and will train two times a year required.
SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE: $2500.00 SIGN ON BONUS ($1250 UPON COMPLETION OF 6 MONTHS OF SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT, AND $1250 UPON COMPLETION OF ONE YEAR OF SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT).

COMPUTER SKILLS
- BASIC COMPUTER LITERACY as evidenced by the ability to go online and conduct basic searches on the Internet, check his/her email account, create and send e-mail with an attachment and use simple email features. Can open spreadsheets and word processing documents to read and make simple edits.
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Must have excellent communication skills including verbal and written. Must be able to summarize information and describe medical situations using descriptive, objective language.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to quickly changing needs.
- Must be able to relate to people with sensitivity, tact and objectivity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing 25% of the time. Walking 25% of the time. Sitting 50% of the time.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Frequently required to reach.
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature, and the worker is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Close visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
- Individual may be exposed to infectious diseases.
Required Experience
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
One year experience in a human service/medical field. Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Licensed by the NYS Department of Education as Registered Nurse.
- Valid drivers’ license. Availability of insured personal vehicle to transport self and/or individuals as necessary.
- Must have access to timely and reliable transportation to transport self to multiple sites
