JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Retail Sales Associate
Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Retail Store Manager/Assistant Manager
Dept: Retail
Job Summary:
To provide excellent service to customers by assisting with product selection, ringing up sales, bagging and carrying out of product, as well as stocking shelves, processing inventory, and assisting in the maintenance of the store's appearance.
Job Duties:
Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by greeting and acknowledging every customer with a smile, actively seek out customers in the store and offer assistance.
Be safety oriented by following all known safety procedures and utilizing good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment at all times.
Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory maintenance, and store maintenance.
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
Job Requirements:
Must be minimum 21 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, count, write and communicate accurately in English.
Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
Solid communication skills and willingness to work well with Supervisor and Co-Workers in a team environment.
Ability to accurately and quickly process information through POS register system
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include a combination of mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays (We are closed Sundays!)
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift (up to 8 hours). Must be able to stoop, bend, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to move large quantities of merchandise with carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other moving equipment. Some walking and stair climbing may be required.
