  • Responsibilities

    The Premium Item Processing (PIP) Clerk is responsible for receiving and processing of all incoming mail to the Premium Accounting Department.  This includes opening, sorting, and distributing all incoming mail to its proper teams and/or locations.  PIP Clerks are also responsible for data entry required in our Remittance Processing Software, ImageRPS.  Processing in ImageRPS requires great attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.  PIP Clerks also offer assistance to other Premium Accounting teams by way of other data entry, inventory logging, and premium processing tasks as needed.  Flexibility and a willingness to help wherever is needed are important for this role.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Receiving, opening, sorting, and distribution of all Premium Accounting mail, including, but not limited to, premium payments, remittance stubs, policy applications, customer service inquiries, address change requests, etc.
    • Handling pf payments via check, money order, or cash.
    • Basic maintenance of machinery used to open, sort, and scan incoming mail.
    • Data Entry keying of such items as bank account numbers, routing numbers, policy numbers, and dollar amounts. 
    • Confirming accuracy by ensuring payments are processed to the correct Globe Life subsidiaries by researching payments flagged as potential duplicates.
    • Provide back-up to premium application processes, as needed.
    • Ensure processing is done in a timely manner by meeting strict daily deadlines for Premium Accounting’s deposit process.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of 10-key calculator
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
    • Detail-oriented; ability to conduct in-depth research using multiple systems
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Available to work overtime as needed
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time

    Required Experience

    • Previous administrative or remittance processing experience a plus
  • Qualifications
    • Knowledge of 10-key calculator
