Under the overall supervision of the Director of Occupational Therapy and the Pediatric Supervisor, the Pediatric Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements treatment for children referred to the Occupational Therapy program.
The Pediatric Occupational Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department – birth through adolescent. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the Occupational Therapy Department's policies and procedures.

EDUCATION:
Minimum of Bachelor's of Science degree in Occupational Therapy required from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
New graduates acceptable.
One (1) year pediatric Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Current licensure (or license eligible) as a registered OT by the PA State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs required.
Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline).
Registration or registry eligible with the Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board and membership in the association required.
CPR Certification must be obtained and maintained.
Good written and verbal communication skills; and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with staff, patients, and families.
Valid PA driver's license preferred as position involves travel during participation in community integration activities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Moderate work: duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approximately 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10 lbs. or force frequently (33-66% of shift).
Position involves sitting and working in reaching and strained positions throughout shift.
Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:
