    Description of Duties:

    The Grant and Compliance Administrator ensures compliance with legal, federal, and state regulations related to grant administration. Key responsibilities include preparing reports and presentations, analyzing budgets, acting as an internal auditor, providing customer support, and coordinating with other departments. The Grant Administrator, under the direction of various IDVA leaders, also prepares written reports and visual materials while exercising independent judgment and adhering to relevant laws and policies. They are also tasked with gathering documentation to support their conclusions and recommendations.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Teams along with the ability to learn agency databases, and tools.
    • Utilizes critical thinking skills to set forth recommendations concerning grant administration, grant decisions, and compliance monitoring findings and recommendations.
    • Exercises independent thinking and judgement to accomplish goals.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Perform duties in a confidential, professional manner.
    • This position is expected to travel to the state of Indiana and out-of-state travel for conferences and/or training. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

    Job Eligibility:

    An employee of the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs must satisfy one of the following eligibility requirements:

    • Veteran,
    • Spouse of a veteran
    • Surviving spouse of a veteran
    • Parent of a veteran, or child of a veteran

    The veteran must be:

    • An honorably discharged veteran who has at least six (6) months active service in the armed forces of the United States; and
    • A resident of Indiana for at least two (2) cumulative years preceding the applicant's appointment.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
