  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary

    Responsible for creating a visible image that can be used in media and print. Uses software and hand-rendering to design products that meet the needs of the client.

    Primary responsibilities

     Check email  Meet with clients to establish a vision for a product or design.  Select colors, images, textures and shapes to create the layout.  Select the size and arrangement of the different elements.  Use computer software to create electronic versions of designs.  Employ color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques when designing project.  Design logos for products and businesses.  Develop signs and environmental graphics.  Create promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures.  Submit rough drafts to client for approval.  Make changes to mock-ups.

    Secondary Responsibilities

     Answer phones  Help customers with their printing needs.  Create Invoices  Cash Handling  Printing (as needed)  Cutting (as needed)

    Qualifications: Knowledge of graphic design software and tools, including:

     Adobe InDesign  Adobe Illustrator  Adobe Photoshop  Adobe Dreamweaver  Understanding of the printing process and specifications  Familiarity with production and rendering methods, including drawing,  Creative thinking skills

    Educational requirements

     A degree or certificate from an accredited college or university. Minimum, graphic designers should possess a two-year associate degree in graphic design, though a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is preferable.
