  • Responsibilities

    ****Purpose: The Marketing Assistant and Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the marketing and communications office through graphic design, social media support, and the administrative aspects of marketing and communications activities.

    Accountability: Reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (20 hours a week)

    Qualifications:

    · Must be a Christ-follower who upholds, in word and deed, the Hill Country Christian School of Austin’s Core Values and Statement of Faith.

    · Must faithfully attend a church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this school.

    · One to three years experience or similar or related experience

    · Bachelor’s degree or two years of experience in a related field

    · Excellent communication skills, oral and written

    · Excellent organizational and project management skills

    · Solid proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat required

    · Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite applications (preferred)

    · Experience with WordPress is a plus

    · Experience with email marketing platforms like MailChimp or Constant Contact is a plus

    · Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver quality work in an efficient manner

    · Ability to think creatively and problem solve

    · Organized and efficient, paying close attention to details while handling multiple tasks

    · Must be willing to accept feedback and collaboratively revise or re-work designs and ideas

    · Strong interpersonal skills

    · Demonstrates a strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices, with the ability to translate marketing objectives into compelling and effective visual communication.

    Responsibilities:

    · Complete graphic design for digital and print projects

    · Schedule social media posts for all school platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Vimeo

    · Assist with design, research and ordering of promotional items, spirit gear, and club/team items

    · Assist with website content updates

    · Assist with weekly email newsletter

    · Take photos and videos as needed

    · Select and edit photos for use in various publications

    · Assist with brand and style management

    · Assist with print and mail projects

    · Process incoming and outgoing correspondence promptly

    · Attend meetings as assigned

    · Interact in a Christ-like manner at all times. Utilize the interpersonal relationship method of “Matthew 18” as commanded by Jesus Christ.

    · Perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements:

    · Must be able to remain in a stationary position the majority of the time using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements.

    · Needs to frequently move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

    · Operates a computer the majority of the time and frequently a copy machine.

    · Ability to work in an open office setting with frequent in-person interaction and numerous interruptions.

    · Frequently communicates with co-workers, vendors, and others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, whether in person, via email, or via telephone.
