    SUMMARY

    Inspect and perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Repair and maintain all plant equipment and machinery under the direction of the supervisor or Maintenance Repairer A.

    • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties with limited supervision.

    • Assist higher-rated maintenance repairers in machine repairs, adjustments, and rebuilding.

    • Effect repairs and adjustments of machinery when required and where familiar.

    • Complete minor electrical maintenance in areas as assigned, i.e., replace motors, fuses, switches, etc.

    • Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.

    • Participate in area continuous improvement efforts, including employee involvement.

    • Personal attendance records should remain in compliance with company guidelines.

    • Perform other duties as directed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.

    • Not all items listed below are necessary, willing to train the right candidate.

    • Over one year of experience preferred, including experience with hydraulic system troubleshooting and the ability to identify and read hydraulic schematics.

    -An understanding of how a PLC functions.

    • Must be able to provide own tools up to 3/4".

    • Good mechanical aptitude. Use shop math, somewhat complicated drawings and formulas, precision measuring instruments.

    • Judgment to perform work and make decisions regarding setups and quality with continuous mental and visual attention.

    • Moderate physical exertion. Able to lift to up to 50 pounds. Physical movement includes repetitive motion, with twisting, bending, and standing during the shift.

    • Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE.
