Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Following the restaurant's recipes and portion sizes, prepare and cook grilled and fried dishes, such as burgers, steaks, chicken, seafood, and vegetables.
· Ensure that all dishes are cooked in a timely manner and meet the customers' preferences and quality standards.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station, including properly storing ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
· Monitor and regulate grill temperatures to ensure food is cooked at the correct temperature and avoid any safety hazards.
· Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate cooking times for various dishes to ensure timely service.
· Assist in preparing ingredients, such as cutting and marinating meat, washing vegetables, and preparing sauces and dressings.
· Handle and cook food according to food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring all health standards are met.
· Monitor food inventory and report any shortages or expired products to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
· Keep track of maintenance of grill and kitchen equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate staff.
· Collaborate with the serving staff to ensure accurate and timely food orders.
Job Skills and Qualifications
· Excellent cooking skills with a focus on grilling and frying techniques.
· Knowledge of various cuts of meat and their cooking times to ensure food is cooked to the desired level of doneness.
· Strong attention to detail to follow recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards accurately.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the kitchen team and other staff members.
· Good time management skills to ensure that dishes are prepared and cooked within specified timeframes.
· Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling, storage, and cooking techniques to prevent foodborne illnesses.
· Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots or pans, and maneuver around a busy kitchen.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience as a Grill Cook or in a similar role is preferred but optional.
· Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic maintenance.
· Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
