  • Responsibilities

    The Driver partners daily with customers and employees to achieve results. Primary areas of responsibility include:

    • Transporting goods, including deliveries and pick-ups

     

    REPORTING STRUCTURE

    The Driver will report directly to the Dispatcher. This individual is also expected to interface with other management, including the leaders of the different business divisions.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Drive safely to and from destinations, following all OSHA, DOT, and Lawrence regulations.
    • Actively participate in moving materials, equipment, furniture, household goods, and manage the packing and crating of valuables as well as hard-to-move items.
    • Serve as a liaison when necessary between customers, sales representatives, dispatch and warehouse staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Represent Lawrence Companies in a positive manner with all clients.
    • Inspect truck and equipment for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
    • Maintain all necessary paperwork and/or logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, according to FMCSA regulations.
    • Completion of various forms including inventories, bill of ladings, various military paperwork, AR Forms (additional services performed) and so on.
    • Secure cargo for transport.
    • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
    • Report defects, accidents, or violations.

    Required Skills

    REQUIREMENTS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and DOT standards and regulations.
    • Must be an analytical minded individual with attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask, support projects, and meet deadlines while keeping a solution focused mindset.
    • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion.
    • Must be a positive minded individual with problem solving ability.
    • Excellent professional communication and demeanor required, as well as outstanding customer service skills.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have CDL-A or CDL-B
    • Minimum 1 year of driving experience.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs with no assistance.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow through skills.
