Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
The Retail Grocery Manager leads the Grocery, Housewares, and Kitchenware departments to meet company goals and standards in terms of sales and service. The Retail Grocery Manager tracks and plans department activities as well as manages the Retail Grocery Team.
Reports to the Retail General Manager or to the Retail Dry Market Manager.
·Inspects the store regularly to ensure compliance with all programs, rules, and standards
· Coordinates merchandising and displays based on promotional activities following the direction of the Corporate Product Team
· Spends time on the sales floor and proactively builds relationships with guests
· Replenishes products and maintains inventory through proper buying procedure
· Analyzes sales and identifies Key Performance Indicators to keep on track with budget and sales goals
· Reviews and monitors scheduling, labor costs, purchases, and inventory
· Participates and provides input and feedback in weekly the store meeting with the Retail General Manager and the Corporate Head of Operations
· Collaborates interdepartmentally and with Corporate to share information and to plan activities and events
· Partners with Marketing to create departmental in-store communications, displays, and signage
· Delegates responsibilities to the Grocery Team daily, weekly, and monthly to meet department needs, targets, and goals
· Hires, assigns, trains, motivates, and evaluates team members; handles terminations when necessary
· Documents, investigates, and resolves employee and guest incidents
· Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ year of experience in a retail management position
· Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and business management skills
· Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree preferred
