Vice President of Grocery/Retail Operation
Location: Open VP roles across the country/ relocation
Salary: Base 250K to 300K Plus Bonus 120K to 145K and Equity Value from 240K to 280K and Relocation (This is the midpoint salary range for this role, client open to negotiation)
Responsible for overall execution of division operation initiative plans, ensuring they exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions. Meet/exceed division sales/profit budgets and business plan objectives for revenue growth and profitability. Operate as an inclusive leader; engage all associates in a manner that supports company strategy and retention. Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective collaborative developer of solutions to business challenges. Champion and lead change to improve efficiencies and serve as a strategic partner with corporate leaders to create a distinct competitive advantage and enhance the company’s position as a leader in grocery retail. Coach and develop Merchandising teams to create a pool of promotable and talented associates. Oversee/drive accountabilities for all segments of the company strategy to include enablers, initiatives and action plans. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Lead Operation teams in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising initiatives that support company policies and practices while complying with all government laws and regulations
• Lead division efforts to improve market share by driving sales and improving customer count and sales per customer • Ensure a favorable shopping experience for customers through balanced programs/initiatives (sales budgeting, space and price management) that fit individual market conditions to ensure we are competitive in each market • Identify opportunities through store and warehouse visits and ensure solutions/action plans are in place to address identified areas of concern • Achieve/exceed revenue/profit budgets, as well as targeted goals (e.g., safety, shrink) and financial glide paths • Drive cost-effective sales through partnership with division and district/ store leadership teams to ensure effective execution of merchandising
plans and initiatives that maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink and improve each store depts contribution • Develop reports highlighting financial performance in areas of responsibility, including budgets (e.g., sales, shrink, labor expenses, other expenses) and other targeted goals
• Implement, support and follow up on merchandising and other change management initiatives, including Freshness & Standards • Establish/maintain effective two-way feedback on communication and efficiency of company merchandising, operations and change management initiatives to divisions and corporate leaders
• Demonstrate inclusionary leadership, role models friendly behaviors and expect inclusive and friendly behavior from associates, and support the efforts of the store, district, and division Our Promise teams • Remove all division barriers in creating an inclusive business environment where all associates are respected and engaged
• Identify talent and develop successors for all leveled store, division and corporate positions • Partner with Human Resources professionals to ensure the adequate
recruiting, hiring, training, development and evaluation of store management and other field associates
• Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Any experience as division field merchandiser
Any comparable experience with another company
Ability to project and react to business issues
DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree
Any division/corporate operations experience
Any corporate Merchandising experience POTENTIAL CAREER PATH FROM THIS POSITION
