Located on State Route 730 in Wilmington, Ohio, The World Equestrian Center is currently seeking Grounds Maintenance Associates to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Grounds Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the overall exterior appearance and grooming of the property grounds, walkways and parking areas. This can include landscaping duties, snow maintenance and exterior building maintenance. Primary focus on guest experience and safety.
Essential Functions:
1. Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as golf carts, lawn mowers, snow blowers.
2. Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
3. Care for established lawns by weeding, grubbing, edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
4. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
5. Police grounds and common areas, remove litter daily.
6. Maintain or repair using basic tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
7. Mix and spray non-restricted weed killer using hand sprayers, hand pull weeds.
8. Monitor irrigation systems for proper coverage and report issues/breakage, water consumption and to prevent waste.
9. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters or other grounds features.
10. Water lawns, trees, plants or flower pots or baskets using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
11. Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.
12. Rake mulch beds and disposes of leaves / debris.
13. Repair asphalt “pot-holes” in drives and parking lots.
14. Supports departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
15. Installation of Holiday décor and lighting throughout the property.
16. Maintain roof gutters and storm sewer drainage system.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
1. High School graduate.
2. Landscape experience.
3. Basic hand – power tool experience.
4. Excellent customer service skills, basic mechanical aptitude.
