    Job Description

    As a Group Sales Manager, you will manage all aspects of selling groups, ensuring monthly and quarterly goals are achieved. This position requires working within tight response deadlines, while providing a professional, friendly and informative experience for our clients and guests.

    You will work closely with our Operations teams, maintaining a positive relationship, communicating client needs and expectations through Group Resumes and related documents as needed. Accurately maintain accounts, contacts and related business activities within sales applications.

    • Exceed personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, annually, through account development and maintenance
    • Scheduling effective sales calls and appointments within assigned markets, participating in prescribed training and special projects, assisting in the development and training of sales coordinator, collecting market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long term goals
    • Consistently offers prompt professional, engaging and friendly service
    • Responsibilities including quoting rates and negotiate group rooms contracts within established parameters, keeping accurate records of potential customers and following through on all potential business
    • Coordinating with Convention Services and Catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised services
    • Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel at Convention and Visitors Bureau, Industry Partners and Fairmont Global Sales Offices
    • Maintain active membership in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to the specific market
    • Support goals, objectives and philosophies of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Group Sales Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel environment
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and/or relevant computer applications required
    • Experience with Opera Cloud preferred
    • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
    • 1+ years’ experience in Sales and or/Event Planning role
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and use a trace system to ensure client communication is consistent and timely.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Quick learner who is inquisitive, detail-oriented, and creative.
    • Self-starter/self-motivated
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
    • Deep understanding of the group sales process, market dynamics, and customer requirements in the luxury hospitality sector
    • Ability to travel as needed
