Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager – Your Job Duties

You will oversee the general ledger accounting team, review financial statements and financial accounting operations and key financial metrics.

• Oversee, manage, mentor and review the work of the finance and accounting team members (team of 2-3 in accounts receivable and billing, accounts payable and contracts administration) including serving as back up when needed
• Prepare and review the monthly WIP schedule, job costing and progress billings using information provided by the project management team
• Oversee cash flow and perform active cash management / monitoring
• Oversee receivables, billing and collections
• Performance of month end close and account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries
• Preparation of monthly financial statement package and financial analysis
• Provide ongoing mentorship and training to staff, perform performance reviews, provide consistent and continuous feedback and career development for the team
• Work with Company President to create team goals, department goals and identify potential process improvements and ongoing team and staffing needs
• Measure, evaluate and report on team success and company financial metrics through established KPIs
• Work directly with third party CPA firm to prepare reports needed for tax filings and financial reviews
• Serve as point of contact for 401k TPA and ESOP TPA for ongoing administration

You will report directly to the Company President, working in lockstep alongside him to provide value added financial information, accurate financial packages and mentorship to the accounting team. You will receive support of the Fractional CFO consultant.

Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager \- Required Skills, Experience & Culture Fit

• You have strong general ledger accounting experience and skills – GAAP accounting, financial statement preparation and review
• You are nimble and enjoy working both strategically and rolling up your sleeves
• You are a technical accountant and have a deep understanding of the details of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll accounting
• You are excited about joining an organization where you have a place to lay down roots and grow – bringing improvements, impact, learning and sitting on the executive team

 Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager \- Extras (Desired, Not Required)

• Experience with the Microsoft Dynamics software platform
• Prior experience with an accounting software implementation
• Construction accounting background, including WIP and progress billing accounting and/or knowledge of prevailing wage reporting
• Knowledge of prevailing wage reporting
• 4 year degree in accounting, finance or related
  

This is 100% in office role.

Compensation $110,000 to $130,000 + , salaried plus annual incentive compensation potential up to 10% of annual salary. Salary flexible.
