General Summary
COLSA's Corporate IT department is seeking candidates for an experienced Deltek Systems Engineer. This candidate will serve as the technical lead on a broad range of Deltek applications, e.g. CostPoint, Time and Expense, Cognos, Budgeting and Planning & CostPoint Analytics. The individual in this role will be responsible for researching, installing, configuring, maintaining and training on these various applications.
*Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)
- Responsible for analyzing, defining, designing and developing new system requirements *
- Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations *
- Defines and designs complex system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility *
- Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system *
- Analyzes and resolves difficult and complicated program support deficiencies *
- Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design *
- Work with various departments with reporting and data extraction
- Work with various departments in system integration
- Work closely with finance, HR, contracts, program managers and program analyst in deploying new applications, improving current systems configuration and problem resolution
- Research, recommend and implement changes to enhance system functionality and efficiency
- Train employees and technical staff on administration and use of various Deltek products
- May provide work leadership to lower level employees
- Must have strong written and verbal skills

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in related field.
- Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs
- In-depth knowledge of a broad range of Deltek applications, e.g. CostPoint, Time and Expense, Cognos, CostPoint Analytics, Capture Analytics
- Familiarity with installation, configuration, managing, upgrading and troubleshooting the following Deltek products: CostPoint 8, Time and Expense 9, Cognos, Budgeting and Planning, CostPoint Analytics and Capture Analytics
- Previous experience in writing and editing Cognos reports complex in nature
- Basic knowledge of government contractor finance and HR functions: payroll, AP, AR, travel, reporting, purchasing, benefits, employee self service
- Familiarity with SSRS
- Experienced in working with and writing queries to analyze and extract information from SQL
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to successfully undergo criminal background investigation
