    As an Assistant Innkeeper/Guest Services Manager you will wear many hats. First and foremost, they are the meet and greet portion of our inn’s staff. They must be courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful for arriving and established guests. Since our guests’ comfort and satisfaction are of the utmost importance, innkeepers are required to perform numerous tasks, within reason, for the benefit of the customers. They are also required to treat customers with respect, showing great tact and restraint at times.

    Position Summary: The Bed and Breakfast Innkeeper is integral to ensuring an exceptional guest experience, managing the daily operations of the inn with a focus on guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, proactive individual with a passion for hospitality, dedicated to creating memorable experiences and maintaining a welcoming environment for all guests.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Guest Relations: Provide a warm and attentive welcome to guests upon arrival. Facilitate check-in/check-out procedures, address inquiries promptly, and accommodate any special requests to ensure a seamless and pleasant stay.

    Personalized Service: Offer tailored recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and activities based on guests’ interests, enhancing their overall experience.

    Housekeeping Oversight: Ensure that guest rooms and common areas are impeccably clean and well-maintained. Collaborate with housekeeping staff to meet high standards of presentation and comfort.

    Reservations Management: Manage bookings through phone, email, and online platforms with efficiency and accuracy. Maintain and update booking calendars, and promptly respond to reservation inquiries.

    Breakfast Service: Prepare and serve a delightful daily breakfast, ensuring a high-quality dining experience that exceeds guest expectations.

    Financial Management: Handle financial transactions, maintain accurate records of bookings and expenses, and manage daily financial reports with precision.

    Marketing and Promotion: Contribute to the promotion of the inn through social media, local partnerships, and marketing materials to attract and retain guests.

    Maintenance and Safety: Oversee property maintenance and address any safety concerns, coordinating with contractors and service providers as necessary.

    Guest Experience Enhancement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the guest experience, addressing feedback and making improvements to ensure satisfaction.

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred. Previous experience as an innkeeper or in a similar role is advantageous.

    Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask, resolve issues efficiently, and manage time effectively.

    Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to cleanliness, organization, and high-quality guest service.

    Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.

    Technical Skills: Proficiency with reservation systems and basic office software.

    Physical Skills: Ability to lift 20 lbs. Must be comfortable with multiple flights of stairs

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or training in hospitality or business is a plus.
