WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A full-time A&R Manager, skilled in audio engineering, and experience working directly with artists in the studio. Our A&R Manager has a deep knowledge of and passion for hip-hop and its underground scene, and keeps up with trends and up and coming artists on social media platforms (i.e., Instagram, Tik Tok).
WHO YOU ARE
Because our A&R Manager wears many hats, you are comfortable playing the role of engineer, but also possess outstanding administrative and organizational skills to traffic assets such as legal agreements, credits, lyrics, and metadata between multiple parties. You will also proactively bring to the table your great, new ideas to help improve our workflows.
You are a reliable, detail-oriented, dedicated, extremely organized and conscientious team-player with a great attitude and an ear for detail. You are an experienced Audio Engineer who has solid knowledge of engineering programs, such as Abelton, Logic and/or Pro-Tools. You have a deep understanding of hip-hop and R&B, and experience working directly with artists in the studio. You are skilled in creating plain and simple audio files, as well as maintaining a Google Docs filing system that is well-managed and organized. You are comfortable working with DAWs, and bouncing stems. If you have additional A/V skills such as videography, photography, editing, coloring, drone operation, etc., these are a plus!
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE…
Management of music assets such as demos, mixes, stems, acapellas, instrumentals
Procurement and scheduling of mixing and mastering sessions
Trafficking of mix versions for approvals between multiple stakeholders
Collection, organization, management and tracking of music metadata and paperwork
Trafficking of legal agreements between musical collaborators
Minor mixing or mastering work as needed
Occasional engineering or recording function in studio sessions
Creating clean, edited or special versions of certain tracks for marketing or other purposes
Keep current with updates/trends in audio engineering and recording techniques
Maintain friendly and helpful dialog with Guin artists and managers
OUR REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience as an audio engineer, preferably supervised at a studio facility
Passion for all things music, recording, mixing, mastering and engineering
Deep understanding and passion for hip-hop, R&B and its underground scene
Experience working directly with artists in the studio–preferably hip-hop and R&B
Expertise in audio engineering programs (Ableton, Logic, and/or Pro Tools)
Expertise in preparing audio files
Expertise in Google Docs
An ear for detail
Ability to communicate and follow detailed instructions
Strong organizational and communication skills
Aptitude for written and oral communication
