    Job Description

    The Hospitality & Restaurant Operations internship will provide those interested in hospitality management a valuable experience as they gain skills in guest relations, project management, communications, data analytics, travel and events coordination, and operational support. This position will predominately assist in the support of our restaurant operations from our office located in Manhattan, KS with some weekend work that can be done remotely. There are also opportunities to shadow managers in the restaurants. HCI Hospitality restaurant operations include Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers as a franchisee with 39 locations across the US and counting. We also own and operate several local restaurant concepts with a centralized catering department.

    Duties/Responsibilities :

    Guest Relations

    • Reviews guest feedback & assigns follow-up
    • Records guest issues in the guest response tracking system
    • Analyze trends in guest feedback

    Project Management

    • Assist in project planning – projecting timelines, identifying milestones, assigning tasks
    • Attend project meetings, take notes, assess risks, and keep stakeholders informed of project progress

    Communications

    • Plan and design engaging news content for internal audiences

    Data Analytics

    • Interpret data, analyze results, and communicate trends and areas of opportunities

    Travel & Event Coordination

    • Make travel arrangements as needed, including but not limited hotel, flight, car rental, restaurant & meeting space reservations
    • Communicate arrangements and prepare detailed itineraries

    Operational Support

    • Assist in the administration of operational systems including maintaining user accounts, hierarchies, and permissions
    • Troubleshoot issues with systems and work with operators to reach a resolution
    • Prepare & ship packages
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Working towards a degree in hospitality management or a similar field.
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written
    • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.
    • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends
