GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW This is an outside sales position selling HMM’s import service to customers within the PNW region. The Account Manager will maintain customer contact and relationship with current import accounts and pursue new import customer opportunities- BCO and NVO.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs on a frequent and/or recurring basis: · Daily follow-up with customers and assist with their request for resolution · Attendance at sales meeting and other industry/customer events · Preparation of weekly sales call reports and pre-plans · Maintain and expand HMM business with existing accounts · Prospecting for new accounts and increase PN local account base · Service Contract Negotiation & rate requests · Gathering Market Intel for weekly reporting and internal information · Responsible to accomplish goals, objectives, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) · Other duties assigned by his or her management. · Prepare any reports required by AHQ, HQ & local offices
ADDITIONAL DUTIES · Preparing for sales calls, running marketing reports and piers data · Responding to email and bid opportunities · Work closely with inside sales support & other departments within the HMM organization. · Learn and utilize HMM system efficiently. · Other duties as assigned by management timely and with expected detail · Offer coverage when co-workers are out of office
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty efficiently. The Account Manager must be able to assist where needed within the department. Team player is critical. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Must be exceedingly motivated, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be outgoing, a self-starter & results driven including a high desire for success as well as be highly organized. Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE A college degree & minimum of 2 years related carrier sales and/or industry experience.
