Operating within the core values and operating principles of the organization, the Senior Communications Specialist is responsible for the development of communications regarding highly visible corporate initiatives. Works extensively with subject matter experts to research and translate information into clear and engaging communications. Recommends strategies for content development and execute through strong storytelling. Serves as the point of contact for high-level company communication projects and oversee detailed communication plans. Obtains appropriate approvals for communications, including from business stakeholders, clubs, state filing and compliance. Partner to create the design and final delivery of the communications.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for writing highly visible communications that support our corporate and department goals. Work extensively with subject matter experts to research and translate information into clear and engaging communications. Translate corporate objectives into simple, straightforward, easy-to-understand copy.
Work with channel owners to identify objectives and oversee communication plans
Provide creative and innovative ideas for communications
Point of contact for leading communications and organizing meetings
Gain deep understanding of the company’s products, policies, services, and guidelines and distill these into easy-to-understand and connected communications on a wide variety of topics that supports the corporate strategy.
Recommend strategies for campaigns and content development that support our corporate objectives and execute strategies through strong storytelling.
Responsible for concept development including partnering with team members, ideation, drafting of concept briefs, and presentation in internal creative review meetings.
Provide editorial review and mentor with feedback for content produced by the corporate communications tem and club partners to ensure compliance with AP guidelines, brand standards and advertising rules.
Partner closely with designers to create collateral and new layouts for communications including PowerPoint presentations and documentation for corporate projects and customer facing collateral.
Lead multiple projects simultaneously and work closely with others both internally and externally to ensure communication projects are completed within desired timeframes.
Ability to respond quickly to time-sensitive communications.
Act as primary point of contact and lead detailed communication plans for communication projects such as executive communications, product launches, change management, and campaigns.
Identify and communicate urgent priorities and keeps all parts of the creative communication process on track to meet deadlines. Instill a sense of urgency in all efforts throughout the department.
Facilitate and obtain appropriate approvals for creative, including from clubs, business stakeholders, state filing and compliance. Lead negotiation and drafting of new copy for required changes. Maintain detailed list of required reviewers and document all approvals.
Provide final materials to channel owners for release to the audience. Provides direction on necessary changes and edits to existing marketing material as required business stakeholders
