    In addition to our internships being paid, we will also offer the following for our Academic Year interns:

    • At our Universal City office, interns will have access to the NBCUCommutes program, which provides fully subsidized transit passes to full-time lower lot employees, good for unlimited rides on all Metro bus and rail, such as the Metro Red Line.

    Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

    April 21 – May 9: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)

    Early May – Mid June: First round video interviews

    Mid June – Mid July: Second round interviews

    Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers

    Academic Year Internship Program:

    • Applications Close: May 9th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!

    • Program Dates: September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026

    • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

    Universal Studio Group: (USG) encompasses NBCUniversal’s television production studios: Universal Television (UTV), Universal Content Productions (UCP), NBCUniversal International Studio, and Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS). USG produces over 100 scripted and unscripted series across multiple countries around the globe for buyers in broadcast, cable, and streaming. Network partners include NBC, Peacock, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, HBO, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, CTV, ABC, FOX, and ABC among many others.

    Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • USG Human Resources & Employee Engagement: USG Universal Studio Group (USG) is the umbrella brand that houses NBCUniversal's four powerhouse television studios; Universal Television, UCP, Universal Television Alternative, and Universal International Studios. Collectively, the four premium studio brands produce over 3,000 hours of programming currently airing or streaming around the globe and own one of the largest libraries in the world with over 120,000 episodes of television. Led by Chairman Pearlena Igbokwe, USG collaborates with some of the industry's most visionary storytellers to champion a diverse slate of ambitious, creative and passionate projects. Current hits include the "Law & Order"-branded series, Emmy® Award-winning "Hacks,” "Chucky," "Dr. Death," "That's My Jam," "Baking It," “Everyone Else Burns” and “We Are Lady Parts.” As an intern for the USG Human Resources team, you will report to the Director, Human Resources and Manager, Employee Experience, while working with other members of the team to gain exposure across the business. You will support the USG employee population and partner with the HR team to strategize and facilitate initiatives and provide day to day support. In addition, you will support employee engagement initiatives, events, and communication. Throughout your time with the USG HR team, you will gain exposure to entertainment industry processes that support the needs of our employees and multi-billion-dollar global media business.

    • **Ops & Tech Human Resources: **The O&T intern will have exposure to HR projects that span: onboarding, rewards and recognition, performance feedback, talent attraction and development, and HR’s business impact. In the day to day, you will help solve problems involving: Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Data Analytics. The intern will also have exposure to the team’s union projects and CBA analysis.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026). December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Internship Program.

    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

    • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.

    • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026.

    • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

    For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

    NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.

    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

    • Interest in the HR field, corporate communications and culture, and/or employee engagement.

    • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline.

    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels.

    • Well-organized with strong time management & multi-tasking skills.

    • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders & balance numerous projects simultaneously.

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

    • Experience with SAP a plus.

    The hourly rate for student interns is $17.50.
