JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations by serving as a trusted resource and providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Address employee concerns, conduct investigations when necessary, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and attract top talent. Coordinate the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations. Facilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive experience.
• HR Policies and Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR policies and practices are in compliance. Review and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
• Benefits and Compensation: Assist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including data entry, payroll calculations, and distribution of paychecks. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Address any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Stay informed about market trends and assist in developing competitive compensation packages.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and benefits processes and implement efficiency improvements. Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures related to payroll and benefits administration. Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist with experience processing payroll and managing benefits.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and HR policy administration.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proficient in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
• Prior related industry experience preferred.
