We're seeking a seasoned HR Generalist to nurture and strengthen our relationships with the dedicated veterinarians and hospital staff who make it all possible.

    As a HR Generalist, you'll be the vital link between our corporate HR team and our veterinary hospitals. Your role is to advocate for our hospital employees, ensuring their HR needs are promptly addressed while championing our company's values, policies, and processes. From working with our PEO (ADP TotalSource) and managing the day-to-day HR functions including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, basic employee relations matters, absence management, and benefits administration, you'll be a trusted partner to our veterinary teams.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The HR Generalist is a focal point of Companion’s relationships with our veterinarians and hospital teams. The position serves as liaison, advocate and trusted partner between Companion Pet Partners’ hospitals and PEO on all HR processes, absence management, benefits, policies, and basic employee relations.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as primary point of contact for HR-related questions
    • Advise hospital management on employment matters, including policy and procedure interpretation, performance management and conflict/ complaint resolution
    • Manage and resolve employee relations issues
    • Recruit for Core Team (Corporate) positions
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new teammates
    • Administer the leave of absence and accommodation process
    • Support with the launch of annual HR tasks (performance reviews, open enrollment, merit/bonus administration)
    • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the PEO vendor
    • Maintain electronic personnel files
    • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes
    • Collaborate with IT, Payroll, Finance and other Core Team members as needed
    • Stay updated on relevant employment laws
    • Adhere to Companion policies, procedures, DOL, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of related HR experience
    • SHRM/HRCI certification preferred

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Proficiency with ADP TotalSource
    • Proficiency with GSuite, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    LOCATION: Hybrid – in office 2 days per week in El Segundo, CA
