HR Intern - Fort Wayne, IN

As an HR Inter, you will assist the HR & Recruiting Teams with supporting our team members in all facets of HR. You will get to learn what really makes an HR Department run efficiently and effectively. We are looking for someone who can turn this Internship into a permanent HR role on our team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct new hire onboarding and orientations
Responsible to collect and maintain all the required employee paperwork in the system
Responsible to complete, verify and maintains I-9 files
Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information
Be the main point of contact for all visitors and job candidates
Assist administrative tasks and duties
Help with talent recruitment, including updating applicant tracking system, scheduling and conducting interviews, and speaking with candidates
Drafts employee communications, such as HR newsletter, company announcements and policy updates
Drive employee engagement initiatives
Serves as initial point of contact for employee questions/concerns about HR topics such as benefits, payroll, company policies, time off, performance reviews, etc.
Monitor and track all paid time off requests and accrual balances
Coordinate office events

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
HR related degree of study preferred
No HR experience required
Any customer service experience preferred
Standard proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Excel
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment and multitask
Time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
