    We are seeking an experienced hands-on HR Manager to support our Iowa-based manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for leading HR initiatives across multiple site locations, ensuring alignment with business goals while promoting a strong family-owned culture. The ideal candidate is experienced in labor-intensive environments, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and can balance multiple priorities.

    Your Role in Our Mission:

    Serve as the primary HR leader for multiple manufacturing sites in Iowa (25 miles apart), while partnering with centralized HR functions, ie payroll, benefits, employee experience, and talent acquisition,

    Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute workforce strategies that support safety, quality, productivity, and retention goals

    Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations issues, investigations, corrective action, and performance management

    Work closely with Talent Acquisition on staffing, onboarding, and workforce planning.

    Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, and EEO regulations

    Coach supervisors and managers on effective leadership, communication, and conflict resolution practices

    Participate in engagement efforts including employee recognition, communications, and internal events

    Support hourly and salaried performance review processes and centralized compensation alignment

    Capable of learning and backing up payroll processing.

    Partner with HR functions on policy development, benefits communications, and talent initiatives

    Partners with safety personnel regarding workplace injuries, return to work programs, and claims management.

    Champion a positive, transparent, and respectful workplace culture

    Lead or support special projects, audits, or process improvement initiatives as needed

    To Perform your Job Successfully:

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master’s or HR certification preferred

    Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a manufacturing environment

    Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance in the state of Iowa

    Working knowledge of payroll systems, wage/hour compliance, and payroll-related questions

    Working knowledge of timekeeping, PTO tracking, attendance and pay practices

    Demonstrated experience resolving complex employee relations issues

    Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS platforms (APS, UKG, etc.)

    Comfortable working onsite in manufacturing facilities and traveling to satellite locations as needed

    Change management and organizational development experience

    Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement of culture

    Ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization

    Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills

    Understands and respects the boundaries defined by HR ethics and confidentiality

    Skilled at balancing professionalism with approachability in close-knit or small community settings
