    Role: HR & Office Administrator

    Location: San Diego, CA (in-office)

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 / yr + stock options, 401k matching, and other benefits.

    **Role Overview:
**Seasats' administrative and HR needs continue to grow, so we're looking for an office and HR magician to add to our Admin Team. This person will support our HR & Admin Manager in making sure our people at Seasats are as effective and happy as possible.

    About You:

You're an organized, friendly, and trustworthy person who loves checking off to-do lists but can also slow down for a good conversation. In addition, you probably have:

    • A desire to get as much done in a day as possible
    • The ability to efficiently prioritize and execute multiple tasks
    • A friendly, upbeat attitude
    • Strong communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • A tendency to go above and beyond without being asked
    • A customer service-oriented outlook
    • Expert loop-closing power.
    • The ability to lift 40 lbs on occasion

    Role Details:
We're looking for an HR and office administrator to join our team in San Diego. It's a job with varying responsibilities – any given day might feature lunch orders, party planning, emails, employment law research, and more. Each day may be different, but they'll always be high-impact and critical to keep our team running smoothly.

For the right person, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience and improve life at a rapidly growing startup. If you can only focus on a single task, you're an unhelpful and unfriendly Eeyore, and your greatest ambition is to surf the web all day, you're probably not that person. If you believe you have the qualities listed above, though, keep reading!

As you're probably picking up, you'll have a lot of variety here. But here are some sample duties you might expect:

    • Managing business tax regulations and insurance policies.
    • Managing invoices and payments.
    • Maintaining files on personnel benefits, trainings, PTO, etc.
    • Keeping the office in order – ordering office supplies, cleaning up the break room, refilling printer paper, stocking office snacks and drinks, watering plants, etc.
    • Creating and maintaining legally compliant training programs.
    • Assisting with equipment purchasing and setup for new employees.
    • Assisting with payroll operations.
    • Shipping – mailing packages and picking up marketing materials.
    • Helping to plan and coordinate parties, birthdays, and fun company events.
    • Organizing and preparing for key company meetings and events.
    • Ordering company lunches.
    • Communicating with vendors and contractors.
    • Managing inventory of marketing materials.
    • Booking flights, hotels, dinners, etc.
    • Shaping and cheerleading office culture.

This is a long list, but you won't be expected to handle it all on your own. You'll work closely with our HR and Admin Manager and our Chief of Staff. You can also always ask for help from other team members when you need some extra hands.

During your ramp-up, you'll get a lot of guidance and support from our HR and Admin Manager, and once you're established you'll work as a tight team to accomplish all this. You'll eventually learn each team member's name and background, and if you need a hand with something you'll be able to rely on them just as they'll rely on you.

You should be aware that this won't always be the most glamorous job. It offers a lot of variety and opportunities to learn in a fun yet professional atmosphere, but a lot of time will be spent answering emails, ordering lunches, going to Costco, and helping tidy the office after a hurricane of engineers sweeps through.

    Life at Seasats:
If you join, along with your salary, you'll receive perks including:

    • Stock options
    • Competitive insurance (including a 99% employer-covered Gold HMO plan or other options)
    • 401k matching up to 4% of salary
    • Four free lunches per week
    • An employee activity fund
    • A pet-friendly office
    • Unlimited/Flex PTO

We'll help you ramp up and will regularly take time to discuss what's working and what's not. We're also big on personal freedoms: if you're on top of your responsibilities and want the afternoon off to surf or spend time with friends and family, go for it! We have flexible hours, accommodating PTO, and a personable, high-achieving work culture. We want someone who's excited to work hard and have fun in this environment.

Our values are listed below; we're happy to explain them more during the interview process.

    • Get Stuff Done
    • Be Kind
    • Fight Entropy
    • Attack with Overwhelming Force
    • Ask More Questions
    • Lines, Not Dots

    Hiring Notes:
If you decide to apply, you'll be asked to provide a resume. We don't ask for cover letters; instead, you'll be asked a few questions about your background and interest.

If we decide to move forward with your application, you can expect no more than 2-3 more rounds of virtual interviews before a final in-person interview. If you have to travel to San Diego, we'll reimburse pre-approved travel costs.

Please note that we are currently unable to sponsor employment visas, so candidates must be independently authorized to work in the United States.

We appreciate diverse perspectives and life experiences, so we encourage women, minorities, and people of all backgrounds to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

We look forward to reviewing your application!
