  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary:
    The Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires. You will work closely with the Human Resources Supervisor, Onboarding Specialist, and hiring managers to ensure that we attract and retain excellent talent. This position requires some travel to the various regions in which Mercy House operates, as well as job fair sites.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Candidate Sourcing

    • Update and post job descriptions on various job boards and platforms to attract qualified candidates.
    • Maintain updated candidate applicant information on tracking systems and ensure accurate, up-to-date records.
    • Conduct phone screenings to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
    • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
    • Conduct reference and background checks and ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation and regulations.
    • Participate in recruitment marketing initiatives to enhance the organization's reputation as an employer of choice.
    • Attend job fairs quarterly.

    Team Support

    • Present company policies, procedures, and culture during new hire orientation sessions.
    • Assist in extending job offers and the onboarding process.
    • Update new hire documents as necessary.

    Miscellaneous

    • Attend staff meetings and quarterly training sessions.
    • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained through seminars, conferences, and reviewing professional publications.
    • Take initiative and demonstrate strong decision-making and organizational skills.
    • Initiate best practices and develop efficiency improvements.
    • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience

    • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other HR-related software.

    General

    • Reliable transportation required.
    • A flexible work schedule, including some schedule changes, weekends, and evening shifts to meet the department's needs.
    • Detail-oriented and computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing strategies, candidate selection, and employment legislation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Answer and respond to phone queries.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
