Job Summary:
The HR Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the human resources function for approximately 800 employees across the U.S. Successful candidates will play a key role in supporting various HR programs and initiatives and partnering closely with employees across the organization and the HR team. This role will report to the Director of HR & Payroll and may focus on various areas, including onboarding, leave of absence management, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.
This role will be based in Baton Rouge, LA and is a Hybrid position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and other leave processes.
- Act as the main contact for leave inquiries, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
- Oversee new hire onboarding and employee offboarding, including orientations and exit procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address employee relations issues, conflicts, and performance management matters in a fair and consistent manner.
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure adherence to HR policies and regulations.
- Manage employee offboarding procedures, including exit interviews, return of company property, and final paperwork to ensure compliance and smooth transitions.
- Stay informed about HR trends and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an HR related role, strong preference for work as a Generalist or Specialist.
- Ability to work through a problem with limited information and find solutions to take the situation to the next step.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with at least an intermediate level of Excel.
- Proactive mindset to implement and come up with solutions.
- Knowledge of Paylocity is a plus.
