    Hydrobuilder Holdings (HBH) was initially formed through the acquisitions of Hydrobuilder.com, a leading online retailer of hydroponics and horticultural supplies, GreenCoast Hydroponics, the second-largest hydroponics retailer in the United States, and Los Angeles, Calif.-based Elevated Equipment Supply, full-service equipment and supplies provider for the commercial cultivation and specialty agriculture industries. More recently we have acquired Way to Grow, a Colorado-based retailer of aeroponic, hydroponic, and greenhouse products as well as Home Grown Ventures (HGV) Nutrients, a manufacturer and distributor of a proprietary blend of water-soluble nutrients used for commercial agricultural, and most recently New England Hydroponics, a Northeast-based retailer of lighting, climate control, tools, supplies, nutrients, and growing mediums. Together the Six businesses create a leading omnichannel retailer of specialty agriculture and hydroponics equipment and supplies.

    We are for:

    We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily accounting functions, including account reconciliations, and assisting with the monthly close process. This position will report to the Controller and will be an integral part of the accounting team.

    _ Essential Duties and Responsibilities:_

    • Prepare and/or review account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy.
    • Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
    • Assist in month-end close by compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare necessary journal entries for properly stated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy within corporate reporting timelines.
    • Review, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconcile items.
    • Assist with GAAP consolidation and compiling financial information from all business units into consolidation ERP system.
    • Manage accounts payable for a holding company (~1hr/week).
    • Create ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    _ Qualifications:_

    • Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting
    • 2-3 Years Experience with General Ledger and Accounts Reconciliation.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships with key business partners.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • The high degree of attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
