    LOCATIONS: Midland, TX; Monahans, TX; Hobbs, NM; Jal, NM

    CONTEXT: Our client, a midstream water services company, is searching for a Bilingual HSE/Safety Representative to proactively manage safety risks, promote safe work practices, and safeguard the health and well-being of all field personnel.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor and enforce safety regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and contribute to the development of preventive measures. Document findings and make recommendations for improvements in safety protocols. 
    • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on topics such as hazard awareness, emergency response procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and overall safety best practices.
    • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Identify potential safety hazards, unsafe acts or conditions, and take necessary corrective actions. 
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
    • Conduct emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for emergency situations such as natural disasters, fires, or equipment failures.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, trainings, and corrective actions.
    • Prepare reports on safety performance, trends, and areas that require improvement.
    • Communicate safety-related information to management and relevant stakeholders.
    • Promote a positive safety culture among employees and contractors by encouraging safe work practices, providing feedback, and recognizing individuals or teams for their safety achievements.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Previous safety-related field experience within the oil and gas industry.
    • Proficient knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
    • Familiarity with tools and software used for safety data management, documentation, and reporting.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver safety trainings, write reports, and communicate with employees, contractors, and management.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies.
    • The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding safety protocols and improvements.
    • Strong problem-solving skills to assess risks and develop effective strategies for risk mitigation.
    • Attention to detail when preparing reports and maintaining accurate records.
