    HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

    Octane Design LLC is looking for a Human Resources rock star to design and develop the people side of our growing firm!

    Who are we? Octane Design LLC is a general contractor located in north Phoenix. You may not have heard of our firm (yet), but you have seen our work. We have done general contract work for several retailers such as L’Occitane En Provence, Clarins, and Insomnia Cookies. We are also involved in projects in the financial, medical, 3PL, and food service industries. Our business is growing exponentially, and we are adding an HR Administrator to join our team to perform the following functions.

    Compliance and Policy Administration:

    Develop HR policies for the organization related to hiring, compliance with federal and state labor laws, employee relations, payroll and related areas.

    Monitor and maintain records pertaining to independent contractors and ensure compliance with IRS regulations regarding independent contractors. A large majority of our work is completed utilizing independent contractors.

    Organize and maintain employee files and I-9 documentation. Ensure proper handling, retention and storage of HR documents and records.

    Recruitment and Hiring:

    · Develop job descriptions for all positions within the organization.

    Create and advertise job vacancies on various platforms. Track and manage incoming applications and resumes for job openings.

    Coordinate and manage the interview process including providing expertise around interviewing guidelines and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws.

    Prepare onboarding materials, conduct orientations, and ensure new hire paperwork is completed accurately.

    Benefits and Payroll Administration

    Provide information and support regarding employee benefits programs. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes.

    Liaise with benefits vendors and manage benefit-related inquiries and issues.

    Assist with the collection and verification of timekeeping data. Address employee questions and issues related to payroll.

    Employee Relationships

    Facilitate effective communication between employees and management.

    Help execute initiatives and events that support the company philosophy, culture, and strategic goals and celebrations.

    Support company leadership in various ad hoc projects

    Are you who we are looking for? You have:

    · A bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field.

    · SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification or similar professional HR certification required.

    · At least 5 years’ experience in a higher-level HR Generalist role with responsibilities of recruitment, hiring, compliance, labor laws, employee relations and benefits. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

    · Demonstrated experience growing the HR function of a startup/emerging company.

    · Comfortable being an HR department of one or a small HR department of less than 5 employees.

    · A self-starter who shows initiative to find the answer or information when it is not readily available.

    · Expert level of knowledge regarding the hiring and compliance of independent contractors.

    · Technologically savvy with experience working in varying software programs and online platforms, including the ability to deal with new software installations, software integration and the sharing of data between programs and departments.

    · Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

    · Demonstrated ability to confidentially maintain employee and company information.

    · Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment with accuracy and attention to detail.

    · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    · Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

    · Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.
