    We are a small, family owned residential/light commercial HVAC company located in the beautiful Florida Keys. We are looking a for qualified, experienced construction / hvac apprentice with a minimum of 1 year experience. Honesty and reliability a must. Applicant needs to be self-motivated, have good customer service skills, and a strong work-ethic. The construction crew reports to the job supervisor or service technician assigned to and is responsible for performing a range of HVACR jobs for light commercial and residential customers.

    Ideal candidate must be able to efficiently accomplish a job to the mutual benefit of the customer and Mead Mechanical. Duties include but are not limited to:

    Assisting the service technician with work assigned

    Assisting in the installation of new air conditioning systems.

    Installing duct systems on new projects or existing projects.

    Performing related duties as directed by the job supervisor.

    Job Qualifications:

    General construction tool knowledge and carpentry skills

    One or more year(s) of successful experience, either in general construction or HVAC construction.

    Currently have (or willing to obtain) an EPA Universal certification.

    Preferred (but not required) duct installation experience and HVAC basic knowledge

    Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and other Mead Mechanical employees.

    Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in Florida.

    Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing his or her HVAC skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.

    Current valid FL driver's license and a clean driving record.

    Be able to pass a background check.

    Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints.
